Hello People!
I just wanted to start up with my new omega 2+, but unfortunately i cant get it running.
I can connect to the Wifi of the Omega, but if i cant connect to it via console.User@NOTINTERSTING:~$ ssh root@omega-af2f.local
ssh: Could not resolve hostname omega-af2f.local: Name or service not knownI can use the Web overlay, but it is searching wifi-networks like... forever.
If i type in my Wifi-Data manually, it cant connect.Any Help?
Thank you!

User@NOTINTERSTING:~$ ssh root@omega-af2f.local
ssh: Could not resolve hostname omega-af2f.local: Name or service not knownSounds like avahi on your system isn't working right. You'll have to consult your distro's instructions for that. You can, however, use the IP-address
192.168.3.1
instead ofomega-af2f.local
, ie.ssh root@192.168.3.1

I use LinuxMint LMDE (debian based)
When i typeavahi-browse -a
i can see several devices ... sou you may be able to debug avahi in Linux this way.

@WereCatf thank you very very much, it worked with the IP!
So my next Problem is, that it finds EVERY Wifi in my near but mine.
Are there any restrictions to the name or something? my SSID is set visible and it works on WPA/WPA2.Any Help?
-
@Matthias-Baumgarten Apparently the official firmware does have trouble with special characters, very long SSIDs and WiFi-channels that are outside of the 1-9 range. Oh, it seems that it only likes AES-encryption, not TKIP. I'm not 100% certain on these as I don't run official firmware, but check what WiFi-channel and encryption your WiFi uses.

So this sturdy little thing is really... meh...
I can see my wifi, i can put in my password... ist says it connects and then: nothing happens.
it isnt restarting, it isnt showing anything and i still cant use oupgrade, because it says it got no connection.I would do it via the Browser-Interface, but it always is searching for networks infinitly...
i mean... why...?

Guess you have to hit enter for the message to post... I had the above info in the post but forgot to submit.

Wenn wir eine Glaskugel hätten würden wir es dir sagen
You have to do a debbuging now ... please check out how to make a serial connetion and post your boot log.
If you have serial connection you can try to configure in the serial terminal.@WereCatf , he would not see the wifi if the chanel problem exists.
@Matthias-Baumgarten , if you can connect after, do a firmware upgrade in serial mode. This will solve a lot of problems. Or check out how to use LEDE image.

@Luciano-S.
Are there any manuals or guides for the serial connection and the update of the firmware over serial?
I cant find any, but maybe i am just blind
-
@Matthias-Baumgarten Here are the instructions for connecting via serial:
https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/connecting-to-the-omega-terminal.html#connecting-to-the-omega-terminal-serial
And here are the instructions for manually installing firmware:
