Does one of the soltions at https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/40087/is-there-a-way-to-list-the-connected-devices-on-my-wifi-access-point work? Might need to install additional packages.

Solved. Not exactly sure what fixed it, but after trying to connect again it gave me the option to skip, after spiking it connected to the Wi-Fi and downloaded & installed the firmware update. All working now.

Strictly speaking, yes, you could probably throw small amounts of data at the unassociated access points, perhaps by abusing the joining protocol. Practically speaking, that will be useless, as they will ignore you or at best respond with errors - the data won't go anywhere useful. For things that are on the same access point you could use UDP broadcasts, but again, the other devices probably won't be paying attention to this traffic.

Well, my optimism was short lived. The web terminal is broken again. Just "xxx.xxx.1.55 refused to connect". Setup works fine. I am using SSH for good maybe. I'm worried about the other web interfaces, but I don't have those break-out boards yet. This is not working on Chrome or Firefox. On a Mac.

About your questions - hardware support of 5.4Ghz band on Omegas would be news to me - haven't seen that yet. Why the 2.4Ghz wifi isn't appearing in the polling result - confirm that the wifi SSID isn't hidden or the protocol is TKIP-encrypted, as TKIP isn't currently "automatically supported" as posted by Onion here.

@Chris-Stratton Thanks for your quick reply ! I just try to power-off the other device, and reboot my omega. And it works ! But I don't have the control of the other device. So If I want the both working, can I configure my omega to work correctly ? Thanks again !

@George-Stephanis , i was playing around with my omega1 again since long. I also was reading that it is not possible to connect to hidden SSID's. But then i made the following: Connecting the omega over serial and in the terminal i had to type wifisetup select option 2) and typed my hidden ssid in ... it includes dots. And it worked. You can test in terminal over serial if the wifi comes up typing wifi. If not you have to activate it in the Console under WIFI settings. So i could solve my problem. Check out if it works with your "apostrophe" this way.
