Red light after firmware upgrade (oupgrade)

  • Hi:

    I a n00b to the omega ecosystem.

I have a Omega 2S+ board. After initial setup, I ssh'ed to this box and ran oupgrade.

This was successful - however now, the red LED turns on and remains on.

The red LED also remains on after re-logging on (log off, log on again using ssh) and after rebooting (using the reboot command).

    Here are the current stats:

    root@Omega-1BFA:~# oupgrade -c

    Device Firmware Version: 0.3.4 b259
    Checking latest version online...
    url: https://api.onioniot.com/firmware/omega2pro/stable
    Repo Firmware Version: 0.3.4 b259
    Comparing version numbers
Device firmware is up to date!

    root@Omega-1BFA:~# oupgrade -v

    Device Firmware Version: 0.3.4 b259

The only weird thing I see is that oupgrade downloaded a firmware for omega2pro (and this is a omega 2S+). Maybe this is a bug in oupgrade ?

At this point - aomega2splus.jpg ny way to fix this red light issue ?

    Best regards,
    -J

  • Hi - the red light issue fixed itself when I did a hard reboot (meaning unplugged the power and plugged it back again).

Prior to this, I was doing soft reboots.

I'm leaving this post up in case anyone else has the same issue.

  • @javadesigner You have there an Omega2Pro, this device uses the Omega2S+ SoC on a board that also incorporates additional 8K storage LiPO etc.

The LED behaviour you report is a known behaviour of this device, you need to update u-boot to version 1.1.3 or above. Here is the documentation on how to do this.
