RE: Wifi connection problem with Omega2
@Nilay-Desai Bought the first Omega with the thought I would use it with the camera, guess what, they never got the camera working and dropped it all together. Some will say use a web cam not the original idea.

Wasted Topic response
Some (LS) find it necessary to respond to a call for help with corrections to methodology of the requester s question or scolding on the availability of the answer somewhere in the database rather then just answering. And if you don't know just remain silent rather then taking time to burden the site with links. That was for you LS.

RE: Camera Kit
Slipping on my kid gloves for this input. The initial reason for my interest was to install these units in a vehicle for street security unfortunately the cameras never materialized. Submitted questions concerning this advertised option only to have it fall between the cracks of "new release" and fanboy responses. So I have given up on this project and moved on but if you get any sort of useful input will be watching you RFI.

RE: Determining demand for an Omega and Omega 2 book
@Neil-Kolban Have not yet read your books, time constraints. Stopped playing with the omega due to the lack of response here from the vendor and to be honest the few that seem to think they walk on water when the respond to questions.
Having said that the book would be great for those that like doing this stuff as a hobby but the restriction would be changes to the book to match changes in the product. Ebook would address this and keep it current.
If I do break out and dust off the Omega it would be nice to find answers in your book to a fast and quick ramp up. -
RE: Help with Cross Compile
They will give answer, just not jet in this moment. How long the campaign is on it shows on the Kick-starter Page.

RE: Kernel Driver Version Mismatch
@Keith-Howell Luciano from the start has been a fanboy and will get sarcastic and attack your questions with disdain, I just ignore him and try and avoid his comments.

Power Dock
With the serial port not found on the Power Dock how do you connect to Omega?

RE: Omega2 Kickstarter is Live! An IoT computer for just 5 bucks!
@Lazar-Demin Yours was a very civilized answer can't say the same for others no matter what emoji is attached.
-
RE: Expansion Module
@Lazar-Demin Referring to the connector on the expansion doc which can be used to connect power to the omega and access via serial connection. Will show a pic as soon as my phone charges to make my point a bit clearer.

Expansion Module
Careful use of the connection via micro USB, for power and serial connection, should be exercised once you move to "off the desk usage" of the expansion module. While it sits on your work bench all is good but the connector in question can detach from the board rather easily if not properly relieved from strain.

RE: Omega2 Kickstarter is Live! An IoT computer for just 5 bucks!
The sensors for the omega 2 are expensive.
-
Camera
What ever happened to the direct attach camera as was the intent by the offering of a small camera which was supposed to be directly attachable to the Omega rather then using USB camera?

RE: Comments/Suggestions for Building a Better Onion Community
@Boken-Lin - It would help if questions didn't fall into the abyss many of us just do this as a hobby and spread the word when we find IOT's and a community which help promote answers.
The key here is answers framed in a helpful manner rather than having most of the answers direct you to confusing (for hobbyist) sites or criticizing the methond of the question. Most of my answers to questions are from other media and not this community.
Rather than spending so much time attacking the way the questions are asked which is detrimental for the community try being more compassionate. Also ignoring the hobbyist question is a downfall for your goal as there are more and more IOT's coming online everyday.
If your goal is to cater to the dev's army then simply state so and hobbyist will move on.
Of course if the fanboys answer this with the usual distain rather than having you address it then my question will have been answered. -
RE: Mini Wireless HD Webcam
@Janus-Sanders Compact, small and clear excellent job. Now back to your notes and see about getting the parts needed to test my own setup. Thanks for the video that was interesting and like the clarity of the shots.

RE: Mini Wireless HD Webcam
Your camera is MegaPixel and works right out of the box? Nice job @Janus-Sanders
