Omega2+ not rebooting
-
My Omega2+ is not rebooting automatically. I always have to power it off and back on manually. The docs seem to mention that this is an issue with the stock firmware, but updating to the latest one did not help.

The device is NOT being reset into 3 byte address mode.
So...It's BROKEN
Please consult the MediaTek Datasheet

I'd love to, however it has 317 pages
And unfortunately, it's mostly a collection of tables, but almost zero functional concept description.
Could you please be a bit more specific what you are referring to?
What piece of software/hardware should reset the device into 3 byte address mode, and when?
I know that SPI_MOSI/SPI_CLK/SPI_CS1 must not have heavy load, as these need to have fixed levels at restart (see MT7688 datasheet page 31). I guess there are pullup/pulldown resistors on the Omega2 for these, otherwise it would not boot at all.
So are you saying that a software-initiated restart does not sample these pins, but software is responsible (and failing?) to set the correct mode?

Anyone can see the patch here :

@Larry-Pinney thanks - I see.
So that's a Omega2+ problem only, because for more than 16M Flash 3-byte address is not sufficient. On the Omega2 the SPI is not switched to 4-byte in the first place, so no need to switch back, right?

Yes that seems to be correct...I have the Omega2+ not a Omega2.

@luz @Larry-Pinney
Reboot on the Omega2+ is fixed as of b142, changelog coming soon.
The whole team is working hard to put out fires, we will deliver on all our promises as we always have before.
