Make it work via (USB-to-logic-level) serial on a desktop Linux first. It should then be a fairly straightforward port, provided you don't have dependencies that aren't available. ie, low-level solutions in python or C will be preferable.

So, this future IoT Standard Protocol will come some day, but in the meantime, the closest thing we have is the Omega web interface, available on any computer with a browser (Apple, Microsoft, Android, etc...)

Logitech QuickCam Sphere AF works using mjpg_streamer and the webcam app on the latest firmware. Plugged an old one I had and worked out of the box but only when connected directly to the Omega (didn't work when trying it on a non-powered USB hub). Now on to look into controlling pan and tilt.
