Omega2 updated firmware confusion
-
Hello @Lazar-Demin , @administrators
Please help me out to find the real and working updated firmware, there are 2 places where omega2 updates resides:
- https://api.onioniot.com/firmware/omega2/stable (which works through oupgrade command)
- According to https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/manual-firmware-installation.html there is another location of firmwares which is http://repo.onioniot.com/omega2/images/
Now let me know that which firmware should i go through as both of the resources contain different version of omega OS...
i have 1-2 year older omega2 chip, will it be ok with newer firmware..? if yes then with which firmware point no 1 or point no 2Please guid me

@an.arshadali the second link is for the newer 3.0.2 which i think is 18.04 and the first link is probably depends on if you have 2.x [17.0.x] or 3.x [18.x] on the omega and i think it just stays at the same ver level but not sure. but i had to manual upgrade to 3.x , although i went back to 2.x

@an.arshadali if you run
oupgrade -l
on the Omega it will automatically update to the latest firmware.This latest firmware is pulled from https://api.onioniot.com/firmware/omega2/latest
Learn more about the oupgrade command in the Omega2 documentation.

Im a noob to all of this and linux... I began the getting started tutorial and opted out of the cloud and did the firmware update and after it finished downloading the firmware it immediately my onions green led started to flash really fast. since I have not been able to find my onion in my wifi list to sign in to it. Any ideas as to what I need to do to fix this?
