After having looked at the issue we realized that the issue is in the install file that we used. We mistakenly used the file for an Omega2+ install while using and Omega2 module. The two FW files are exactly the same in terms of byte size, however the content is quite different and results in the module not being able to boot properly. Hi, mosfet is connected source to external 3.3V and drain to the board: as to be able to cut the power using gate signal (pulling gate high). Based on your "hint" I powered up the board from laboratory power supply and set voltage 3.6V. Onion now works as expected. So definitely voltage drop across mosfet is more than 0.3V and that way, Onion Vdd get down to minimum allowed 2.97V causing an reset (and reboot: because voltage "recovers" to acceptable level). I almost always use this power supply configuration, or a slight variant of this. In my first trial, I had used AP7333-33 Regulator which was not able to supply adequate current to the Omega2. Replaced this with the MIC5209-3.3V and everything was fine ! C4 need not be 1000UF, probably 100UF will also suffice. C3 needs to be used if the Regulator is not near C2. The MIC5209 may also be used after a 5V regulator like 7805. I always use a full bridge rectifier circuit so that I can use virtually any type of Power Adapter.

Mike, Put a 2200uF 6V electrolytic capacitor at the output end of the voltage regulator. Also, always use thicker power supply wires to alleviate the situation a bit. It's the brown out condition where the supply voltage drop in a very brief transit when the Omega 2 board demands more power. The Omega 2 board along really needs a stable 300mA power supply for a sustained period of time. ccs_hello
