@ccs-hello I can feel the side which has the Omega2+ branding get warm after a few minutes.

In such case, I think it's not the same situation as in mine. ccs_hello

@Danny-K @ccs-hello can you please post photos of your setup as per the Community Guidelines for posting issues: https://community.onion.io/topic/787/guidelines-for-posting-issues-please-read-first It's hard to help when we don't know the full situation.

To Admin As in my own thread, I had already posted the picture showing the soldering defect which short-circuited the RESET pin to the Gnd (metal can of the EMI shield/heatsink.

Do you think the scratches in the corner has caused some kind of short circuit? Both point should be earth but I do not know what is in between. This is how the board was delivered to me. The amber light won't light up and the AP doesn't show up either. I think my board is busted. I have not gotten any help from the helpdesk yet. Been trying for over a week.

If you are referring to top-left corner where the screw mounting (round hole) and the rectangular (metal can mounting), it should be fine, since both are Ground.
IMHO, I think it's the time to contact support for a RMA.

@ccs-hello said in Omega2+ Does Not Work: IMHO, I think it's the time to contact support for a RMA. I don't think so. The onion Team wants to know your Situation ... if this is @Tobias-Malm140 only picture he should do more of them (high res) ... to see the hardware installed in a docking station and or manually connected ... and then take more pictures (from all sides). If you have to make a RMA later, you can link to this request.

Yes, I thought so as well. So I sent pictures to the helpdesk with explanation what I have tried. I got a response that looked like a macro answer and then nothing for over a week. I sent them couple more messages with additional pictures but nothing. I then found a thread in this forum of someone with a similar problem and a solution. In the picture below you can see two solder points on the underside of the SD-card slot that are bridged. After I scraped the solder away between the points, the board started to work. The build quality is horrible on the Omega2. Hopefully Onion will fix it with the next batch.

@Tobias-Malm140 I would be sending the faulty unit back for a replacement. Onion need to take it up with their manufacturer rather than Omega users doing the repairs. If the faulty units are not sent back we can expect Omega 3 to have the same defects etc. Hopefully Onion are taking up the issues with the manufacturer as a matter of course.
