Getting started with IoT, choosing the right components.

Hi!
I always wanted to do something related with IoT and few days ago I discovered Omega2, it's price is an invite to get started to build some funny stuff but my knowledge about this field is almost 0.I would start with something quite easy to do, like connecting a sensor (weight? temperature?) in some way to an Omega2, read the values and transfer them to the cloud. Sadly I don't know exactly what I need to purchase to do that! I suppose I need a Dock, and a sensor... But which ones?
Could anybody give me a suggestion? Which Dock is better to get started if I plan to work with sensors (and maybe cameras in the future)? Where I can find a sensor compatible with it? Do I need anything more?Thank you for your help!

otherwise i would guess a google search of keywords like onion omega2 projects might create a list of projects. or hackster.io has these projects. https://www.hackster.io/onion/products/omega2-plus

@Andrea-Carrozzo We also have a free Project Book available that covers 22 IoT projects, it's a good place to start and get an idea of what sort of stuff you can build and the components you'll need.
On top of that, there's Omega2 Kits that you can check out, they include Onion products as well as standard electronics components, and each come with an online guide-book of experiments that teach you how to use each of the components in the kit.
