Version 0.0.8: From Onion with Love
-
yay x2!
Looking forward to playing with node, also I wrote my own PHP app for a webcamera & babysitting the 3d printer, added in the GPIO library to turn LED strips so I could actually see what was going on at night when the office lights were off.
Can't wait to see what the console app version is like (and to see how much I can abuse it!).
Matt
PS. My webcamera has been running at 1280x720 for days (a logitech 310 or something) and while the Omega has got warm, it's been stable.

Great!! Let's see if Blynk works now!

I may or may not have an issue (I'll have to try and connect to another AP once I'm home) where after upgrading to 0.0.8 b296 build, I can no longer connect to a network I was previously connected to. This could be to a blank password requirement or to throttling by my work network, so I'll report with more details if I can't connect once home.

This is common do
vi /etc/config/wireless
find
config wifi-iface
then look for
option disabled '1'
change it to
option disabled '0'
then type the command
wifi
-
@chris-mccaslin if your
/etc/config/wireless
file has multiplewifi-iface
sections, note that you should only have oneap
and onesta
network enabled at a time.If you are experiencing issues with the wifi not connecting to a network that previously worked, can you please create an issue on the wdb40 GitHub issues page? Please make sure to include the contents of your
/etc/config/wireless
file.
-
@Lazar-Demin I'll do that once I get home, before I try the new wifi sta connection. @chris-mccaslin thanks for the info.
-
Created https://github.com/OnionIoT/wdb40/issues/2 for the AP being disabled by default on a previously working AP. The above by @Lazar-Demin does remedy the issue.
-
@Theodore-Borromeo Ok, I will look into this today.
When you say 'AP being disabled by default', do you mean the Omega's AP or a WiFi AP the Omega is trying to connect to?
-
@Lazar-Demin a wifi ap that the onion is trying to connect to. The onion AP doesn't have a line item for the 'option disabled' flag. . .
-
Also, I see b297 available, but no corresponding entry on: https://wiki.onion.io/Documentation/Firmware-Changelog
-
@Theodore-Borromeo The 'option disabled` flag for the Omega's AP will be added once you change the AP settings with the new Console
In any case, I've responded to the GitHub issue page.(Our wiki doesn't update as quickly as our changelog is updated, should be coming soon)

SSH doesn't seem to work anymore after de upgrade, the connection instantly drops
āā[igor][DeWitt][~] āāāŖ ssh root@onionomega root@onionomega's password: Connection to onionomega closed.
-
@Igor-Moura That's strange I'm using putty and havent had a problem thus far. What client are you using?
-
A note on the Network Manager:
If your SSID has a space in it, you will need the latest version in order to successfully connect.
Run the following to get the latest version:opkg update opkg upgrade wdb40
Reboot and the Omega should be able to connect to your network.
-
@Michael-Vowles I was using Linux's own ssh, but after updating NetworkManager as @Lazar-Demin said, it worked (I also don't have to manually enable my wifi anymore)

@Lazar-Demin
Help please... After upgrading from firmware 0.0.5 to 0.0.8 the wlan0 device of my Onion Omega is gone. How do i reenable the Wifi-Interface?
-
@Vyacheslav-Bachynskyi We made some upgrades to the firmware server so there was some downtime last week. Should be running smoothly now. Let me know if it isn't!
@Thorsten-Ludewig The Omega is most likely having issues connecting to your WiFi network. Can you please make an issue at https://github.com/OnionIoT/wdb40/issues and I'll provide support.
